What the stores say
Steam and the Microsoft Store give the same switchover. The Xbox page dates the release to August 25 at 15:00 UTC and closes pre-orders one second before: 5:00 PM on Xbox Series as well as on PC. The French PlayStation Store, meanwhile, hasn't opened sales yet and shows a countdown set an hour earlier. We're going with 5:00 PM until Sony clarifies.
Pre-loading and storage space to plan for
No pre-loading on Steam: the game isn't even available for pre-order there, you'll have to buy it and then download it after 5:00 PM. Plan for 35 GB of disk space on PC according to the minimum requirements, and about 20 GB for the Xbox Series package. No edition opens early: the Standard and the 40th Anniversary Premium Edition launch together.
