Archetype Entertainment has finally nailed it down: EXODUS lands on April 7, 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The Austin-based studio promises a space opera where relativity kills, and reaching one million wishlists will unlock an exclusive cinematic featuring Salt, the mechanical octopus.
Archetype Entertainment gave EXODUS its release date during gamescom's Opening Night Live on August 25: the game will launch on Wednesday, April 7, 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
The Austin-based studio, a division of Wizards of the Coast founded by James Ohlen — former vice president of design at BioWare —, had until now stuck to a vague "early 2027." Its bet still rests on time dilation: a few days of relativistic travel for the hero amount to decades for those he leaves behind.
As for your wallet, there's nothing to do right now. Pre-orders are not open, no edition has been detailed, and the price will only be announced when they launch. Adding the game to your wishlist remains the only useful step.
It also serves as a roadmap: the 500,000-add milestone was hit on August 18, and reaching one million will unlock a scripted cinematic featuring Salt, the Awakened octopus seen in the trailer piloting a mechanized combat suit.
Wizards of the Coast has announced French subtitles and interface; only English will feature full voice acting.
