Crimson Desert: the Chartering the Unknown DLC gets a release date

It's official: Chartering the Unknown, the first expansion for Crimson Desert, will land on October 15. Pearl Abyss set the date during a recent State of Play, wasting no time after the base game's launch earlier this year.

As for the content, we refer you to our dedicated article for the details on the new additions (city building, underwater exploration, a pilotable ship). On the commercial side, the DLC's price hasn't been announced yet - makes sense, Pearl Abyss likes to save that for the very last moment. What's certain is that pre-orders are already open: they grant a deep-sea diving suit as a cosmetic bonus. No deluxe or collector's edition has been announced so far.

Between now and October 15, no beta has been announced nor is a demo planned for this narrative DLC - which makes sense for a single-player expansion that directly continues the campaign. A new, more detailed trailer isn't out of the question given the tight schedule. Worth noting: it's best to have finished the main story before diving in, as the plot picks up after the end credits.
