In Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, the quest of the Royal Geographers is one of the most obscure challenges. Reputed to be secret, this faction offers you the chance to explore the tombs of the Knights of the Round Table, all of which conceal priceless riches and crucial knowledge about the history of Avalon. This detailed guide will show you the location of each tomb and the trials you will face there in order to complete your initiatory journey. This quest is also the way to access one of the game's secret endings. Be ready to awaken the ghosts of the past to discover what remains of these heroes of Avalon left for dead!

How to start the Royal Geographers quest
The Royal Geographers quest begins right after retrieving the first fragment of King Arthur's soul during the main mission "A World to Conquer". And it is indeed this fragment, also known as Excalibur, that will allow you to open the first tomb of the Knights of the Round Table. Each tomb requires a specific seal for its first opening, corresponding to one of King Arthur's artifacts. The first tomb you will explore will be very close to Sir Lancelot, the unfaithful knight, in the Southern Horns region. Once you have triumphed over this first trial, you will meet Fionola, a stranger and member of the Royal Geographers, who will invite you to join this secret organization and continue the search for the tombs.
Sir Lancelot's tomb
The tomb of Sir Lancelot is located east of the Temple of the All-Mother, on the peninsula of the Southern Horns region. To get there, go down to the beach and swim along the shore until you find a spot with a campfire, some ancient ruins, and several wandering Drowned. An occult merchant keeps watch at the tomb's door. By trading with him, you can obtain a few unique items; attention should then turn to the Imprint of Excalibur near the door, which you can interact with to open the passage and enter the tomb.
Inside, you will have to face Lancelot's grief and anger (himself, as you will have guessed...). Once victorious, you will obtain Sir Lancelot's legacy and meet Fionola, who will encourage you to continue your quest for the other tombs.

Sir Gawain's tomb
The tomb of Sir Gawain becomes accessible after completing the main quest in the Cuanacht region. To find it, simply head west of the city, following the road until you reach a bridge over a river. In the middle of the bridge, looking north, spot a ledge you can hang from. The door to Sir Gawain's tomb is tucked away in a nook, just past a few rocks. In this tomb, you will have to face a variety of enemies, including Dryads, so you will need antidotes. Finally, you will have to fight the Green Knight, Sir Bertilak, and then the ghost of Sir Gawain himself. Your reward will match your effort: you will collect the armor and weapons of these two rather tough opponents.

Sir Dagonet's tomb
The tomb of Sir Dagonet, the Laughing Knight, is at the extreme northwest of the Abandoned Gate, northeast of Cuanacht. Take the teleporter to the Abandoned Gate, then head northeast along the left side of the rock wall, until you reach a small hill leading to the tomb's entrance. Unlike other tombs, Dagonet's is reminiscent of a true gothic dungeon, with all sorts of traps and other nasty surprises (such as false walls). Keep progressing while avoiding as many traps as possible, until a breach appears in the ground. Cross the small wooden bridge and follow the wall to finally reach Sir Dagonet's burial chambers, taking care to spot the little "surprise" left by the Jester Knight.

Sir Galahad's tomb
Once you have completed the two main quests of the Abandoned Swords ("Divided We Fall" and "The Long Defeat"), you will be able to access the last two Knight tombs tied to the Royal Geographers quest.
As a reminder, the tomb of Sir Galahad is perfectly located northeast of the Abandoned Swords, just below the Seat of the Elders (a place you will inevitably discover while doing the main quest in this region). The tomb appears to be a complex dungeon filled with undead, and at the end you will meet a resurrected Galahad whom you must defeat to obtain a new piece of the puzzle, his sword and armor, as well as the chance to cross paths once again with the mysterious Fionola. This time, you will have the opportunity to question the woman (who is she really?) about her relationship with Caradoc; you can gather as much information about her as possible.

The tomb of the Knight Who Never Came
The last of the Knights' tombs is a lovely surprise for fans of Arthurian legend: it is the Tomb of the Knight Who Never Came. Most fans of King Arthur will have guessed that this refers to the traitor Mordred, illegitimate son of Arthur and Morgan Le Fay. Inside the tomb, you will encounter several undead warriors. Defeat them and move forward to meet a mysterious man named Govannon. Follow his personal quest to retrieve a missing Chisel, then defeat the Ghost of Sir Vast to reveal the final piece of the Knights' story. You will thus gain access to his shop, which sells end-game crafting materials, as well as the entire Ashen Veil set.

Upon leaving the tomb, you will meet Fionola one last time, completing the Royal Geographers quest, and you will never have been closer to one of the secret endings of Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon.
