Pilgrim's Rest Hollow Knight Silksong: How to Open the Door
In brief
Discover how to unlock the mysterious door of Pilgrim's Rest in Hollow Knight Silksong by finding the secret path hidden beneath a platform, making your way through a demanding obstacle course, then activating the switch after defeating the Bell Beast. This guide details every step to access this area's well-guarded secrets.
While wandering through the Far Fields in Hollow Knight Silksong, you'll eventually come across the Pilgrim's Rest room, where a particularly strange metal door stands. Inside, you can hear the sound of blows, but how exactly can you access what lies behind it? This guide will explain how to unlock this mysterious passage and discover its secrets.
"Strike it with a blow from Hornet's needle to finally open the mysterious Door of the Pilgrim's Rest"
Before setting off on this quest, make sure you've unlocked the three essential abilities: Swift Step, the Drifter's Cloak, and the Grapple. These abilities will be essential to get through the obstacle course ahead of you.

The secret path to the switch
To start the quest leading to opening the door of the Pilgrim's Rest, you must first leave the room from the left side. Go down to the middle of the adjacent vertical room, then head into the room on the right, outside of which you'll find a bench and a Bellhart.
In this room, focus your attention on the small platform located to the right of the Bellhart. This is where the secret is hidden, beneath this platform: position yourself underneath it and head right to find a secret path that even seasoned players can easily miss.

This secret path leads you to a fearsome obstacle course that will put your skills to the test. You'll need to bounce off red spheres, glide over air currents with the Drifter's Cloak, and avoid all the thorny traps. Even though all the actions are fairly obvious, pulling them off won't be so simple, and will still require precision and timing.
At the end of this agility exercise, you'll head left, where a fearsome opponent awaits you. Right after this creature is the long-awaited switch; strike it with a blow from Hornet's needle to finally open the mysterious Door of the Pilgrim's Rest.

Other secrets and rewards
An important detail to note: if you activate the switch after dying to the Rhino Grub, this enemy will disappear forever. If you're able to defeat it, you can record it in your Hunter's Journal and obtain the Beast Shell (which breaks to give 140 Shells). It is therefore strongly recommended to wait until you've defeated the Rhino Grub before activating the switch.
Thorough explorers will find a Lost Flea near the Rhino Grub. To discover it, once you've completed the long course mentioned above, go right instead of left, trying to brush aside a few silk strands, before using the Grapple on the wall to the right; in a small alcove you'll find the Lost Flea.
