In MIO: Memories in Orbit, there are many areas of the ship that are inaccessible at first. The Aviaries are one of them and make up a particularly interesting area to explore. To access it, you need a specific item: the Aviaries Master Key. This guide will explain how to obtain this precious key.

Location of the Aviaries Master Key

The Aviaries Master Key is found in an area called Wild Vegetation, located behind a boss named Flora. To get there, you'll first need to defeat this plant guardian.

Flora is a huge pink bud. This boss is rooted on the right side of the screen, and its attacks mainly consist of short-range strikes. One strategy that can help you defeat this enemy is to stay airborne as much as possible by juggling your jumps and grabbing onto any hook available.

Once Flora is defeated, the Aviaries Master Key will drop, glinting on the ground, just to its right, in the spot where the boss stood, and you'll simply need to approach it for it to be automatically added to your inventory.

Using the Master Key and accessing the Aviaries

Now that you have the Master Key, you need to head to the Aviaries door, which you can reach in two ways:

  1. Either by going through the Bell Tower if you're already inside the Aviaries,
  2. Or by using the elevator closest to Mel up to floor L1: The Spine, then heading right.

Opening this door won't necessarily reveal a "new" area if you reach it from inside the Aviaries, but unlocking this path will allow you to move around with greater freedom, especially if you haven't unlocked fast travel, to avoid constantly backtracking through an already explored area.

The Aviaries are located above Shii (the point where you obtain the map) and to the right of Estragon the Librarian and Noden the Spine, and hide many secrets and story elements of MIO: Memories in Orbit.
