In brief

Michael Myers cannot be killed in Halloween: The Game, but there is a way to neutralize him: get him arrested. To achieve this, you must convince residents to call the police, play as Dr. Loomis or an officer, then surround Michael as a team to fill his arrest meter before taking him down.

Playing a civilian in Halloween: The Game is a real challenge: Michael has the most fearsome arsenal of abilities and weapons. And since he can't be killed, there's only one way to take him out of action: get him arrested by the authorities. Here's the step-by-step process for taking Michael down.

Step 1: strengthen the police presence in Haddonfield

First, bring the police to Haddonfield. To do this, talk to as many residents as possible and encourage them to call the police. Each time, you must first succeed at the conversation mini-game that convinces them they're in danger. Once convinced, select the "Call for help" dialogue option so they alert the police.

You can also call the police yourself by going to any phone and completing the conversation mini-game. You get two attempts, and you must succeed at both for the call to be convincing. Be careful: Michael can interrupt any call, either by cutting the phone lines or by attacking the caller directly.

Step 2: become Dr. Loomis or a police officer

Next, one player on your team must play as Dr. Loomis or a police officer. To do this, a player must first escape or be killed by Michael. Two options are then available:

  1. A player joins a nearby CB radio (marked on the map and interface) and calls for backup so the spectating player spawns in as Dr. Loomis.
  2. The spectating player runs through mini-games to try to get the Police Backup perk and become a police officer - this depends on luck.

Step 3: gear up and arrest Michael

Once the requirements are met, it's time for the arrest. You'll need several police officers in Haddonfield, some weapons, a good number of players, and a police officer or a Dr. Loomis controlled by a player. From there, surround Michael with the police officers to fill his arrest gauge, shown as a handcuffs icon.

When the gauge is full, take Michael down with as much firepower as possible. Ranged weapons are effective; you can also surround him and blind him with flashlights and flare guns while other players hit him with melee weapons. Once Michael is on the ground, approach him and hold down the interact button to trigger a mini-game and carry out the arrest.

Note

How long Michael stays down depends on your players' perks and his own ability to get back up via his mini-game. To extend his time on the ground, add Laurie Strode to your team: she has a dedicated character trait for this.

Frequently asked questions

Can Michael Myers really be killed in Halloween: The Game?
No, it's impossible. The Shape cannot be killed, which is why the only viable strategy is to get him arrested by the police. It's the only way to permanently neutralize him.
What happens if Michael cuts the phone line while I'm calling the police?
The call fails and you lose an attempt. Michael can also attack the person calling directly. You have two tries to make a successful call — you need both to succeed.
How do you become Dr. Loomis or a police officer?
One player must first escape or be eliminated by Michael. Then, either they use a CB radio to call for backup and appear as Dr. Loomis, or they complete minigames to obtain the Police Backup perk and become an officer — but it's random.
What's the best strategy to keep Michael on the ground long enough?
Use Laurie Strode on your team; she has a character trait that extends the duration Michael stays down. The more player advantages you have, the longer he'll stay pinned.
Are melee weapons as effective as ranged weapons for stopping Michael?
No, ranged weapons are more effective for filling his arrest meter. You can combine both by blinding Michael with flashlights and flares while others hit him in melee combat.
