Marvel Rivals is launching its tenth season with a format change that's already got people talking: only one hero added instead of two. Gorr, the God Butcher, arrives solo in the roster, as a Duelist. The developers confirmed via their Dev Vision 21 that this is temporary, season 11 will return to the usual pace of two characters. For the exact launch date and time, head over to our dedicated countdown article.

The real gameplay shake-up in this update is the complete rework of Scarlet Witch. On paper it looks minor in the patch notes, but in practice it's the kind of change that reshuffles the deck in competitive play. Players who had mained her may well need to relearn her entire kit.

Alongside this, a wave of buffs and nerfs comes to rebalance the current meta, with no radical changes announced for the currently dominant heroes. A new map, God Quarry, arrives with theming clearly tailored to accompany Gorr's arrival - makes sense from a narrative standpoint, though it remains to be seen whether the level design holds up in ranked.

On the cosmetics side, the season goes big on pajama party skins for Daredevil, Jeff, Mantis, Rogue, Cloak & Dagger, Jubilee and Magneto, plus the return of the Galacta's Gift event with its Costume Coin currency and new rewards in the shop.

So far, no major complaints are circulating about the single-hero format: the community mainly seems curious to see how Gorr will perform against the rest of the roster, and worried - or excited, depending on which camp you're in - about what the Scarlet Witch rework will do to the competitive tier list right from the first few hours.
