What is the Assessor Matrix?

The Assessor Matrix is a rare crafting material available exclusively during the Heightened Observation map condition. This material is particularly sought after, as it is needed to progress through the High-Capacity Antenna project, which requires collecting 24 Assessor Matrices in total.

The Heightened Observation map condition

The Heightened Observation map condition is a special modifier that completely transforms the gameplay experience. Here are its main effects:

• Assessors land on the map throughout the match
• Increased number of Watchers and Sprayers
• No active locked doors
• Decreased overall loot value
• Increased amount of ARC loot

Note

This condition is ideal for players looking for ARC components, but less appealing for those seeking other types of loot. The Heightened Observation condition is always active on at least one available map at any given time, except on Stella Montis.

How to find the Assessors

Assessors are not present at the start of the match; they land gradually. To locate them, look for the three distinctive red laser beams pointing towards the sky. These light beams are your best indicator for spotting a nearby Assessor.

Once you've spotted the red beams, head towards their source. The Assessor itself is a dark gray, three-armed structure mounted on a tripod. Each Assessor has three breachable containers that you can open to retrieve loot, potentially including the coveted Assessor Matrix.

Group approach

If you're playing in a group, the optimal strategy is to split roles. Two players should keep ARC enemies at bay by keeping them occupied, while the other team members focus on looting the containers. This approach considerably reduces the risk of being eliminated during the breaching process.

For this strategy, bring powerful weapons against ARCs such as Hullcrackers or the Aphelion, as well as several pack grenades to quickly eliminate the Sprayers that often appear near Assessors. Don't forget to bring enough ammo and healing consumables, as fights can escalate quickly.

Solo approach

For solo players, patience is your best ally. Wait for other raiders to engage the ARC enemies, then take advantage of the distraction to sneak in and loot the containers. This approach requires good resource management and knowledge of approach paths.

The "Smoke and Cloak" strategy is currently the most effective method for farming Assessors solo. This approach combines the use of smoke grenades and the Photoelectric Cloak for maximum stealth.

Using the Assessor Matrix

The Assessor Matrix is currently required to complete the stages of the High-Capacity Antenna project. This project has three different stages, and you'll need the Assessor Matrix to complete the tasks of the second and third stages. With 24 matrices required in total, it's definitely worth taking extra risks to collect this item whenever the Heightened Observation event is active.
