Three games are switching to free access on Xbox until Sunday, August 23: Icarus: Console Edition (€39.99), Train Sim World 6: Standard Edition (€49.99) and Lynked: Banner of the Spark (€13.49) at French Microsoft Store pricing, for a catalogue value of €103.47.

One significant condition applies: an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium or Essential subscription. On console, access is found under the “Subscriptions” tab of the Xbox Store, in the Free Play Days collection, on Xbox One and Series X|S. Xbox is advertising a 30% discount on Icarus and its DLC, but the French Store was still showing full price at the time of writing.

Who should bother with the three days

Three niche titles, no blockbusters. Icarus is the only one worth clearing your weekend for: PvE survival for up to four players, a shelter to build up, hostile wildlife and storms. Train Sim World 6 will only speak to train-driving enthusiasts, but at €49.99 the trial avoids a blind purchase. Lynked, a roguelite with a village to rebuild, can be judged over two evenings and costs €13.49.

Gamerscore and achievements earned during the promotion are kept if you later buy the game, Xbox specifies. The official page says nothing about save files.
