Mr Trippy announced on PC: Doctor Ice Cream and Mister Deal

Silver Lining Interactive is pulling a completely wild project out of the hat. The publisher unveils Mr Trippy, a simulation game where you run an ice cream truck by day and a drug business the rest of the time.

The game is developed by Silver Bullet, a subsidiary of Silver Lining Interactive revealed in the wake of this announcement - see our dedicated article to learn more about this new studio. According to producer and lead creative Dan Fraser, the idea was born from an office joke: an ice cream truck drives past their offices, and someone throws out "what if we made an ice cream sim, but with drugs?". The concept clearly caught on internally. The game is coming to PC via Steam, with no release date specified for now.

On paper, the mix evokes a cross between management gameplay in the style of Papers, Please and the criminal atmosphere of a game like Weedcraft Inc, with a clearly tongue-in-cheek tone. It remains to be seen whether the studio will keep up its dark humor throughout the game's runtime, or whether the concept will wear thin after the initial surprise.
