Halloween: The Game: how to counter bikes as Michael

Follow us on

In the online multiplayer of Halloween: The Game, you can play as the masked killer Michael Myers or resist him on the civilians' side. Problem: while playing Michael, you've probably already run into civilians using bikes to run you over on repeat, while the others get their residents to safety. Here's how to counter bikes effectively.

Destroying unoccupied bikes

The simplest way is still to remove bikes before they get used. If you come across a bike as Michael, you can destroy it in a few melee hits - but only if it's unoccupied.

On the map, bikes often appear as small question marks, usually set apart from other discoverable landmarks (such as exits). Find them first and destroy them to make it harder for civilians to get around.

If a civilian already has a bike you've spotted, you can track them on the map. Chase them down, and as soon as they ditch their bike, destroy it: the civilian will be much easier to grab.

Using the Blackout special ability

If you're being hit over and over by bike-riding players, the Blackout special ability is by far the best counter. Used close to a player on a bike, it knocks them off instantly. You can then follow up with an execution, or destroy the bike to make it unusable.

Warning

The Blackout ability has a cooldown after each use - so save it for the right moments.

Knocking cyclists down with throwing weapons

The last method, and the hardest: throwing weapons. Throwing a weapon at a cyclist knocks them down instantly, but success heavily depends on your accuracy. Cleavers, Hatchets and Pitchforks work perfectly for this.

To land the hit, lead your reticle before throwing, as if to get ahead of the cyclist's path. Conversely, a cyclist riding straight at you will be a bit easier to hit.
