Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Remake development progress
About Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Remake
Sam Fisher is back. Not under a new identity, not in a battle royale - a real remake of the original 2002 Splinter Cell, rebuilt from scratch by Ubisoft Toronto using the Snowdrop engine. It's the same engine as Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora (good news, then), but above all a clear promise: to stay faithful to the DNA of the franchise.
Shadow/light sensor, iconic gadgets (smoke bombs, sticky cameras), optional lethality, linear structure - everything that defined tactical stealth back then seems to be preserved. No open world, no looter-shooter, no Ghost Recon-ification. Recent leaks point to a game that respects its source material.
The project remains under wraps, fragile according to some sources, and without a confirmed date. But it's moving forward. For players waiting for a serious heir to old-school stealth, this is THE one to watch.
