Metroid Ravenous

Metroid Ravenous is a not yet officially announced game, whose existence was revealed on July 1, 2026 by a Brazilian age rating listing briefly published in the Diario Oficial da União - the official journal of the Brazilian government - before being removed. The listing names Nintendo of America as producer and distributor, for a planned release on Nintendo Switch 2.

The title suggests a 2D installment in the continuity of Metroid Dread: "Ravenous" directly echoes Raven Beak, Dread's antagonist, and the 12+ rating mentions armed violence, blood, murder and light sexual content - a profile consistent with the series.

Nothing official has been confirmed by Nintendo at this stage. The game would reportedly target fans of demanding metroidvanias, fans of the 2D branch carried by MercurySteam.
