A new Phasmophobia update with an unprecedented crossover

The multiplayer horror game Phasmophobia is set to deliver an unprecedented thrill with its first official crossover: Phasmophobia by Alan Wake, in direct partnership with Remedy Entertainment. Scheduled for May 12, 2026 on all platforms, this temporary event will plunge ghost hunters into the dark universe of Alan Wake 2. But before that, on May 5, the Player Character update had already laid the groundwork for a substantial overhaul. Kinetic Games has finally introduced character customization: choose from 12 models, modify clothing, hairstyle, skin or hair color, or even eyes in a lobby shop. Twitch drops and possible teased cosmetic customizations perhaps hint at other collaborations to come. From interaction with the environment to that of equipment (like the watch), everything is set to evolve with a dynamic fear system, revised ghost events, reworked audio and renewed death animations.

This crossover will also mark the beginning of the 2026 events, in line with the Horror 2.0 roadmap. By combining this with themed maps and shared lore, who knows what surprises await players.
