In brief

Owlcat Games unveils a new trailer for The Expanse: Osiris Reborn titled "Undercover on Ganymede". In one minute and twenty-eight seconds of raw gameplay, discover an infiltration mission on the greenhouses of Ganymede where everything goes off the rails: your team must face off against a protomolecule monster and escape from an enemy base.

On Wednesday, August 26, Owlcat Games released a trailer for The Expanse: Osiris Reborn, "Undercover on Ganymede." One minute and twenty-eight seconds of raw gameplay, HUD included, showing a mid-game mission: alongside your twin J, you infiltrate the enemy base, and nothing goes as planned.

From vegetable garden to inferno

The sequence opens on a transit station on Ganymede, with hydroponic greenhouses and trays of green sprouts. A few shots later, those same trays are burning. The quest log traces the descent: the mission is called "Beetle in the Anthill," and the objectives move from "Get to the surface" to "Destroy the monster," then "Escape from the 'Protogen' base" — the quotation marks are the game's own. The monster is a protomolecule hybrid with blue crystals, sitting in the flames unharmed. Territory of Caliban's War, then.

Two teammates, one command wheel

The captain only brings two companions into the field, here J and Michael. The command wheel is used to switch between them to assign a gadget — Assault Drone, Guard Turret, Frag Grenade, Repair Foam, with no French label published by Owlcat. Throwing a grenade comes with a trajectory to confirm. No shot, however, identifies an Exploit, that piece of the environment a teammate can blow up, which was announced in March.

The closing card simply reads "Coming Spring 2027," on Xbox, PC and PS5. Nothing new there: the window dates back to the Xbox Partner Preview on March 26, as does the closed beta on April 22.
