Arika is a Japanese studio founded in November 1995 by former Capcom developers, notably Akira Nishitani (the name of the company Arika being simply Akira reversed). Its headquarters are located in Tokyo, and it has focused on fighting and puzzle games, with several of its collaborations carried out with major publishers. Notable games include the following: - "Street Fighter EX" (1996), the first game in the Street Fighter franchise in polygonal 3D, the result of close collaboration with Capcom - The "Tetris The Grand Master" series (1998-2025), a true spearhead of "Tetris" games for hardcore gamers - "Endless Ocean" (2007), a relaxing diving simulator developed for Nintendo More recently, Arika is behind "Tetris 99" (2019) on Nintendo Switch and also "Fighting EX Layer" (2018), spiritual successor to "Street Fighter EX".
