In brief

Withering Realms, the horror action-RPG from the creator of Withering Rooms, is coming to Steam Early Access on September 2, 2026. You'll play as Clover, a ghost girl armed with a horrifying guardian doll capable of crafting bizarre weapons, but beware: the game will only be available in English at launch.

Withering Realms enters early access on Steam on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, on PC only. Moonless Formless develops and publishes this horror action-RPG itself, signed by the creator of Withering Rooms.

The studio promises a game playable from start to finish on day one. You play Clover, 9 years old, woken as a ghost in 1926, ten years after the “occult event” that brought the Great War to a halt. Her guardian doll, made of wood, metal and human remains, serves as her arsenal: you build machines to fit into her missing right arm — Enchanted Candelabrum, Chain Rock, Machinegun, Flamethrower. Beating the perimeter guardians widens the map around Penwyll; at night, the areas already explored change residents.

English only at launch

Steam lists English alone, voice acting included: a relief if you read English, a wall if you do not, and the stakes are high for an RPG this talkative. The store page states in black and white that French, among others, is not available. Moonless Formless plans to add languages for the final version, without saying which ones or when. No price has been published; the studio announces only a slightly lower rate during early access, which it intends to leave in 2027, at the same time as a console release.
