In brief

Coldblood Inc. is pushing Neverway back to 2027, a decision made after prologue testing revealed the need to expand certain chapters and areas. The studio formally commits to not expanding the game any further nor delaying it again, while detailing a massive experience: 20 hours minimum, 35 zones, 100+ cutscenes and a multiple-ending system based on relationships.

Coldblood Inc. is pushing Neverway to 2027. The announcement landed on Steam on August 20 with no month attached. The studio says it has "made the difficult decision to shift the release date to 2027" after the prologue and its internal playtests pushed it to grow some of the planned chapters and areas. The promise that comes with it: it will not grow the game any further, and it does not want to delay it again.

The studio used the occasion to put numbers on what is waiting. Its work-in-progress playtest build already runs to 20 hours, with over 35 world areas, more than 100 interactive cutscenes and over 250 different routines implemented across its characters. More than 20 of them turn up in the story, 12 of whom can be romanced. Romance is completely optional, but how much you show up for your friendships does feed into the ending you get: Coldblood confirms multiple endings and says it is trying to avoid "bad endings" altogether. Three people are making all of this.

Two practical notes before you hit the wishlist button. The Steam listing offers English, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Spanish and Russian, so an English-speaking player gets the full text as written. And the game is still PC only, with no price announced.

Key takeaways

  • Neverway leaves 2025 for 2027, but Coldblood swears this will be the last delay
  • The prologue forced the studio to scale up certain chapters and areas
  • The game offers several endings influenced by friendships as much as by romances
  • No French version announced at this stage, a serious drawback for a dialogue-heavy RPG
  • 20 hours minimum of content confirmed with 35 zones and 20 characters running through the story
