inFAMOUS 2 continues the story of Cole MacGrath, wielder of electric powers, in the fictional city of New Marais inspired by New Orleans. The game keeps the structure of its predecessor — an open world traversed by climbing facades and grinding on rails — and considerably expands the arsenal, with a karma system that shapes both powers and story according to the player's choices.

Its distinctive feature lies in its mission editor: players could create and share their own content, a feature that kept the game alive for fifteen years. Developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony, released on PlayStation 3 in June 2011, the game loses its online functions on August 31, 2026.
