Dracula - Franchise

Originally, the widely exploited vampire myth from Bram Stoker's novel inspired the Dracula franchise, drawing both on the myth's origins in video games as early as the 1980s and in particular its 1986 text adventure by CRL Group on Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC and ZX Spectrum machines, the first game to receive a BBFC rating, before quickly being translated with more dynamic adaptations.

The 1990s constitute the peak with the multiple adaptations inspired by Francis Ford Coppola's film, Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992), notably a title on Mega Drive, Super NES, Master System, Game Boy, Sega CD and MS-DOS deploying dark platformers most often featuring Jonathan Harker or the vampire hunter fighting werewolves, skeletons, and the count himself while crossing day/night levels.

In 2026, Nacon and Cyanide Studio relaunch the saga with Dracula: The Disciple, a first-person puzzle game scheduled on PS5, Xbox Series and PC, in which you play a disciple of the count solving puzzles in a Transylvanian castle.
