Founded in July 2025 by Casey Hudson, the famous BioWare veteran behind the success of Mass Effect and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Arcanaut Studios is based in Canada, with a headquarters in Edmonton (Alberta) and an office in Kelowna (British Columbia). This group of experts, including former Microsoft, Epic, ZeniMax and Remedy staff, is betting on immersive and emotional storytelling. Revealed at The Game Awards 2025, their first project, Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, published by Lucasfilm Games, revisits the old era of the Old Republic in a narrative single-player RPG. In May 2026, they poached a star art director from Ubisoft to fine-tune this spiritual successor to KOTOR, which promises galactic moral choices and an impressive artistic look.
