North Beach Games is an independent American publisher, known primarily for having ported and supported Stranded Deep, the survival sandbox originally developed by Beam Team Games and which became a lasting success on Steam and consoles since its full release in 2022. The company has built a reputation as a partner to indie studios, focusing on survival and exploration experiences with strong identity rather than big-budget AAA productions.
With Stranded Deep 2, the publisher is betting on its flagship franchise to take things to the next level: a new dedicated studio, North Beach Games Prague, has been formed around Sam Edwards, co-creator of the first game, now creative director. This internal restructuring marks a strategic repositioning of the publisher, which is bringing in-house the development of one of its most profitable licenses rather than continuing to rely solely on third-party studios.
