Marvel's Spider-Man, this is Insomniac Games taking the character seriously and delivering in 2018 what many still consider the best superhero game ever produced. Peter Parker here is an experienced Spider-Man, not a beginner - and that changes everything about how the game lets you take ownership of the character.

The urban swinging movement system is in a category of its own. Fluid, fast, instinctive. Combat mixes dodges, gadgets and acrobatics in a flow that doesn't run out of steam over 20 hours. And the storyline, which incorporates Mister Negative, Doctor Octopus, Miles Morales or Mary Jane, holds up well beyond simple fan-service.

Playable solo only, anchored in an open-world New York, this title targets both action-adventure fans and fans of the Marvel universe - but without requiring knowledge of the comics to enjoy the story.
