Elden Ring

Elden Ring transposes FromSoftware's formula — demanding combat, recurring death, fragmentary storytelling — into an open world, the Lands Between, written with George R. R. Martin. The player takes on the role of a Tarnished returning from exile to gather the fragments of the Elden Ring and become Elden Lord.

The structure changes everything compared to the Souls games: a mount, Torrent, free travel between legacy dungeons, optional catacombs, and field bosses that nothing forces you to fight. The game can be played solo, in online co-op with up to three players, or through PvP invasions. The Shadow of the Erdtree expansion followed in 2024, and the Tarnished Edition brings the whole package to Nintendo Switch 2 on August 28, 2026. Developed by FromSoftware and published with Bandai Namco, it is translated into French (interface and subtitles, English voiceovers) and holds a 94 on Metacritic for the PC version.
