The Star Wars Jedi franchise is a narrative action/adventure series developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts under the Lucasfilm Games license. It was born in 2019 with the game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and tells the story of Cal Kestis, a young Padawan who survived Order 66 and tries to flee the galactic empire while rebuilding his connection to the Force. First described as unprecedented for its gameplay inspired by Souls-likes, built on exploration, lightsaber combat and puzzle solving, the first installment sold several million copies and introduced the foundations of a dark and immersive universe in a post-Republic timeline.
In its sequel, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (2023), whose plot begins five years after the events of the previous game, players once again take on the role of Cal, still accompanied by his droid BD-1, who must face new enemies, explore larger planets and hone his combat skills using the Force and his lightsaber. Despite a chaotic technical launch on PC, it was praised by critics for its immersive art direction, its intense combat, and also for its next-gen graphics. The game was given an average score of around 85/100, according to specialized media.
