Dragon Quest

Considered one of Japan's most famous RPG franchises, Dragon Quest was founded by Yuji Horii in 1986. With monsters designed by Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball) and orchestral music written by Koichi Sugiyama, it laid the groundwork for the Japanese RPG genre. The adventure blends exploration, turn-based combat, and mythical quests in a medieval-fantasy universe. With more than 11 main installments and numerous spin-offs, Dragon Quest is a cornerstone of Japanese culture and is increasingly making its mark globally, notably with Dragon Quest XI and Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined.
