German studio founded in Hamburg in 2007, Daedalic Entertainment made a name for itself with auteur point'n click games: the Deponia tetralogy, Edna & Harvey, The Whispered World. Its trademark features hand-drawn backgrounds, unapologetically absurd humor, and polished voice acting, including in French. The studio then tried to break out of its genre of choice with more ambitious productions, with mixed success, before refocusing its business on publishing and on what it does best. Its narrative adventures remain safe bets in the PC catalog, regularly highlighted during free giveaway promotions on Steam and GOG.
