A subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment Japan, Aniplex Inc. has become a key player in Japanese animation, before carving out a growing place for itself in the video game market. Created in 1995, the company produces and finances series that are now cult classics, from Fullmetal Alchemist to Naruto, as well as Sword Art Online and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, which it adapts into films, derivative products, and games.

In terms of video games, Aniplex is present on mobile, PC, and consoles alike, through the striking success of Fate/Grand Order, but also through its ANIPLEX.EXE label dedicated to visual novels, notably featuring ATRI: My Dear Moments. The company thus positions itself as a transmedia publisher, drawing on the strength of its licenses to build experiences connecting anime, music, and games.
