Wreckreation 2

Wreckreation 2 is an open-world arcade racing game developed by When Tides Turn, the studio founded by Fiona Sperry, co-founder of Criterion Games - the creators of Burnout. The direct sequel to Wreckreation (2025) takes place in Heartbreak City, a city divided into districts with very distinct personalities: dense downtown, elevated highways, airport runways, industrial docks.

The gameplay relies on combat as much as speed: every race is played by ramming opponents, forcing mistakes and exploiting hidden shortcuts. There's no perfect racing line to optimize like in a sim-racer - here, reading your rivals matters just as much as the clock.

Several modes have been announced: classic Race, Road Rage, Marked Man, Pursuits, Eliminators and an event creation tool called Live Mix. A serious contender for Burnout Paradise fans who have been waiting far too long for a successor.
