Portal: Alive & Kicking

Full remake of the 2007 Portal, rebuilt by amateur studio Rhubarb & Rhubarb on Portal 2's technology and released for free on Steam on August 28, 2026. It replays the story of Chell and GLaDOS in Aperture Science's test chambers, with the lighting, materials and animations of the sequel.

This isn't just a simple facelift: the rooms have been redesigned, the staging reworked, and the game runs on the Source SDK distributed by Valve. It's listed as a mod on the store, meaning it can be downloaded by anyone with a Steam account, at no cost.

Only one language is offered: English, with subtitles. The project is available on Windows only, and a soundtrack is sold separately.
