Caravan SandWitch is a French exploration game developed by Studio Plane Toast and published by Dear Villagers. You return to Cigalo, a desert planet abandoned by the megacorporation that used to exploit it, driving a battered van, searching for a sister who has been missing for years.
The game embraces the complete absence of combat and time pressure. Progression comes through vehicle upgrades that unlock new passages, in a structure close to a metroidvania applied to an open world. The landscapes draw openly on the south of France: scrubland, calanques, hilltop villages, cicadas in the background.
Released in September 2024 on PC and later ported to consoles, it lasts around ten hours and features a warm writing style, fully localized in French. A frictionless proposition, aiming for the pleasure of the journey rather than the challenge.
Super jeu !! Très beau visuellement et le parcourt est agréable. Il est assez facile et rapide à finir, mais reste dans les mémoires.
