Mortal Shell is an action-RPG video game series developed by the independent studio Cold Symmetry, with Playstack as publisher. The first installment, released on August 18, 2020 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, joined the ranks of top-tier Souls-likes by combining demanding combat mechanics with a dark, medieval atmosphere.

Players take on the role of a spectral entity, who must possess the bodies of deceased warriors (the "Mortal Shells") in hopes of surviving in a devastated world. Each of the body shells has its own combat style, skills, and a distinct talent tree, ensuring nearly endless possibilities for approach.

The franchise grew with the release of Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, and Mortal Shell: Complete Edition on Nintendo Switch. While its dark universe has delighted difficulty enthusiasts, the series continues its development with the announcement of Mortal Shell II.
