Fallout

Fallout

Fallout is a post-apocalyptic role-playing video game franchise launched in the late 1990s, initially by Interplay, then by Bethesda Softworks. The founding entries Fallout and Fallout 2 set the stage: a harsh, sarcastic universe, liberal in its approach to quests. With Fallout 3 and then Fallout 4, the series moved away from isometric 2D to 3D and first-person perspective, while continuing to rely on the now-iconic S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system and V.A.T.S. Fallout: New Vegas, developed by Obsidian, became a cult entry for its writing and its wealth of historical narrative options.

Fallout 76 brought this universe online, with regular updates typical of a season system, and community events offering free but temporary content. The Fallout franchise remains one of the leading figures of Western RPGs and one of the pillars, arguably the most iconic one, of post-apocalyptic gaming.
