Crystal Project
Crystal Project is an independent JRPG franchise developed by solo studio River Running Games and led by its creator Andrew Willman. The first installment was released in 2022 on PC, before being ported to Nintendo Switch, and stands as a beautiful love letter to the JRPGs of old and the ancient job systems distantly rooted in Final Fantasy V.
Its very positive reception on PC made it a small phenomenon, at the crossroads of indie games and niche games, praised for the depth of its gameplay, its total freedom, but also its tactical demands. The announcement of Crystal Project II on PC, through a first official trailer, also confirms the ambition to make this independent project a true franchise.
