The independent development studio River Running Games is a one-man operation focused on niche PC projects and genres often neglected by large-scale productions. The creator brings a craftsman-like approach to his projects: long development periods, finely tuned mechanics, and a desire to offer players rich systems rather than flashy polish. With Crystal Project, he caught the attention of discerning RPG fans, won over by very open-ended progression, an emphasis on exploration, and deep build customization. Its successor, Crystal Project II, follows this same logic while expanding the world and seeking to further refine the gameplay.
