Assassin's Creed

The Assassin's Creed saga, developed by Ubisoft and started in 2007, is one of the cult brands blending action-adventure, stealth, and open-world gameplay in a historical and fantastical universe.

In this saga, the Assassins, libertarians, must fight against the Templars, supporters of absolute order, both searching for an ancient artifact known as the Pieces of Eden. The first episode caused a sensation thanks to the character of Altaïr, embodying a fluid parkour system and rhythmic aerial combat. Next came Assassin's Creed II (2009), a masterpiece embodied by Ezio Auditore in Florence, then Black Flag (2013), a success recognized for its air/sea settings in the Caribbean. The series took a turn with Origins (2017) and Odyssey (2018) in Egypt and then in Ancient Greece, open RPGs that both sold more than 200 million units.

Assassin's Creed: Shadows (released March 20, 2025) relocates the action to feudal Japan in the skin of Naoe the shinobi and Yasuke the samurai, and benefited from a multiplatform release on PS5, Xbox Series, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store) and Switch 2, and very soon on iPad. In 2026, Ubisoft will end support for Shadows to prepare seven new projects, including Assassin's Creed Infinity.
