Red Barrels

About

It was in Montreal that the Canadian independent studio Red Barrels was born in 2011, founded by former developers from Ubisoft and Electronic Arts. It has made the glory days of first-person horror games. Very quickly, the studio built a reputation in the survival horror genre. Its flagship titles are "Outlast" (2013), a masterpiece of psychological horror set in an abandoned psychiatric asylum, "Outlast 2" (2017), which transposes this anguish into a disturbing rural setting, as well as "The Outlast Trials" (2024), an asymmetric cooperative multiplayer game set against the backdrop of the Cold War.
