NetherRealm Studios is an American development studio founded in 2010 in Chicago by Ed Boon, the legendary creator of Mortal Kombat; it is a trademark of Warner Bros. In the market for raw and technical fighting games, it has established itself as the undisputed number one of the genre. The studio's flagship games include the reboot of "Mortal Kombat" in 2011, which relaunched the cult franchise with its mastery of visceral combat and modernized its gameplay before "Mortal Kombat 11" in 2019. We can also mention "Injustice: Gods Among Us" in 2013, which brought the DC Comics universe into the fighting game field, as well as "Injustice 2" in 2017.
