Illfonic is an American studio based in Denver, Colorado, specializing in asymmetric multiplayer games built around horror licenses. The studio made a name for itself with Friday the 13th: The Game, before digging the same furrow with Predator: Hunting Grounds and Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game.
Its signature: unbalanced confrontations between an overpowered killer and a group of survivors relying on coordination, stealth and stress management. Illfonic has also dabbled in solo narrative gaming with Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, proof that it isn't limited to pure competitive asymmetric games.
The studio is currently continuing this specialty with Halloween: The Game, which pits Michael Myers against survivors, in keeping with its expertise on slasher licenses.
