Firesprite is a British video game development studio based in Liverpool and part of the PlayStation Studios family since its acquisition by Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2021. Founded in 2012 by industry veterans notably from Studio Liverpool, the company has specialised in productions with strong technical ambition, which have often served as a showcase for the various generations of PlayStation (it is notably responsible for The Playroom, and collaborations on long-term projects often focused on the implementation of technology and gameplay). Firesprite is today focusing its efforts on major PlayStation 5 titles, foremost among them Until Dawn 2, thus underlining its strategic role within the PlayStation ecosystem.
