Eidos Interactive is a British video game publisher and developer based in Wimbledon, London, founded in 1995. Although it initially made its name in video compression, the company moved into the video game industry by acquiring studios, including Core Design in 1996. In 2009, Eidos Interactive was acquired by Square Enix for 117 million dollars.
An iconic player in the industry, the company created franchises such as "Tomb Raider" (developed by Core Design), "Deus Ex", and "Thief".
Eidos also created the Eidos Montreal studio (2007), which notably created "Deus Ex: Human Revolution" and "Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy".
