The British company Codemasters, created in 1986 by brothers David and Richard Darling, is a video game development and publishing studio specialising in racing games, and is world-renowned for its high-definition motorsport titles. It was acquired by Electronic Arts in 2021.
The studio has a rich catalogue of cult titles, including "F1" (the official Formula 1 series), "DiRT Rally" (a demanding rally simulation), and "GRID" (spectacular arcade racing). Codemasters also developed the "Overlord" series and published MMOs such as "Lord of the Rings Online", before focusing solely on racing games.
