3D Realms (formerly known as Apogee Software) is an American video game publisher and developer founded in 1987 by Scott Miller in Texas. It popularised the shareware distribution model and specialised in 3D action games in the 1990s. 3D Realms, acquired in 2014 by a Danish company, is now based in Aalborg, Denmark.
Among its flagship titles are: "Duke Nukem 3D" (1996), a cult FPS that achieved huge success, "Shadow Warrior" (1997), an action shooter, and "Max Payne" (2001), produced with another studio. More recently, the studio has released "Ion Fury" (2019) and "Phantom Fury".
