The Ninjala franchise was born in 2020 on Nintendo Switch as a free-to-play multiplayer action game developed by GungHo Online Entertainment. Its philosophy: fast-paced clashes using « Ninja Gum » in short, mobility-based battles. The first episode managed to stand out thanks to a very pop tone, a character design close to TV animation, and a strong community dimension that led to over 11 million downloads worldwide.

With Ninjala 2: The Uncharted Planet, expected in spring 2027 exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2, the series makes a major shift toward an open world and PvE. While this sequel still relies on Ninja Gum and modern ninja arts, it presents itself as the first part of a two-part story whose narrative and structural scope has been significantly raised.
