About

The Chinese Room is a British studio, founded in 2010 by Dan Pinchbeck and Jessica Curry, and appreciated for its immersive and contemplative narrative games. Based in Brighton, the studio is more passionate about emotional exploration and environmental storytelling than traditional action. - "Dear Esther" (2012) - A founding work of the "walking simulator", this poetic game explores the grieving process in a mysterious setting, a Scottish island. - "Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs" (2013) - A horror sequel developed for Frictional Games, blending industrial horror with social critique. - "Everybody's Gone to the Rapture" (2015) - An award-winning PlayStation 4 exclusive, it tells the story, set in an English village in the 1980s, of the unexplained disappearance of an entire population.
