Semiwork Studios, a small independent studio of fewer than ten passionate developers, was founded in Uppsala, Sweden, in the late 2010s. It made a name for itself with the fast-paced and colorful roguelite Voidigo, but with R.E.P.O., a horror game, commercial success came for this cooperative game for up to six players, which is mainly based on realistic object physics and a gameplay approach centered on improvisation situations rather than jumpscares.
