Psyonix

About

The development studio Psyonix, an American company founded in the early 2000s on the initiative of Dave Hagewood and first named WebSite Machines, is located in San Diego, California. Between 2000 and 2010, the studio was heavily involved in technical support and contract work on major Epic Games licenses. The studio cut its teeth on a few projects such as Unreal Tournament 2004 or Unreal Tournament III, and also provided co-development services on several titles (Gears of War, Bulletstorm, Mass Effect 3). However, the studio went further with Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars, an innovative title that would lend its name to Psyonix's future massive esports hit, Rocket League. In December 2019, Psyonix officially came under the control of Epic Games, owner of the studio and new main publisher.
