Maboroshi Artworks
About
The independent studio Maboroshi Artworks, based in Osaka, operates between Japan and Spain where it was founded by Juan Fandiño Martín, known for his art direction on Yume Nikki: Dream Diary. The studio claims an illustrated approach to video games, where hand-drawn art and art direction are treated with the same care as gameplay.
Their first title, Last Time I Saw You, is a coming-of-age narrative adventure set in late 1980s Japan, centered on love, acceptance and growing up. Maboroshi Artworks is part of an approach to often intimate emotional experience, blending personal memories, subtle fantasy and polished staging, while also devoting itself to other projects, such as the horror game Sombras: Negative Frames.
