Cloud Imperium Games is a video game development studio, founded in 2012 by Chris Roberts, the creator of the famous "Wing Commander" saga. The company, headquartered in Los Angeles, has offices in several foreign countries and focuses on ambitious space games funded by crowdfunding. Cloud Imperium Games' main projects are "Star Citizen", a massively multiplayer space simulator in development since 2012 that has managed to raise more than $700 million, and "Squadron 42", a story based on a single-player game set in the same universe with Hollywood actors like Mark Hamill and Gary Oldman.
